The abusive businessman – who is played by actor Navin Chowdhry in the BBC soap – is facing death unless he gets an unlikely heart transplant in the next few months.
But having been rejected by his family, Nish decided to take revenge by flogging the family silver.
Outside the cafe, Ravi and Bernie were stumped when a for sale sign went up on the cafe – but soon all became clear.
“I’m selling up,” Nish said as he arrived with Kathy and Ian Beale.
“It’s only bricks and mortar,” Nish added.
“It’s meaningless, it all is. I meant what I said on the phone, I want shot of it. If you want the cafe, it’s yours.”
Kathy was stunned but agreed when Nish told her: “I’ll send the paperwork over later if you’ve got the cash, what we agreed.”
“Are you sure about this? There’s no hidden cameras anywhere?” said Kathy before pulling out her purse and handing over a shiny pound coin.
“Nice doing business with you,” Nish told Kathy leaving her delighted to reclaim her business.
Later in the cafe Nish was confronted by Suki, Ravi and Vinny.
“You sold this place for a pound?” said Suki furious.
“How could you? This is my children’s inheritance.”
But Nish told her: “I meant everything I said earlier. I want your forgiveness, the love of my family and you all threw it back in my face.
“You won’t even let me see my own grandchildren. I’ve apologised in the past but I’ve got your reply loud and clear.
“So I’ve re-written my will. Everything I own will now go to the temple and you’ll get nothing. If you don’t want anything to do with me, well, you’ve got your wish.”
But fans are shocked by the price – one whole pound.
One wrote: “After all that he sells the cafe for a £1. A bloody quid?! 🤣🤣🤣 #Eastenders”
A second said: “Kathy getting the cafe back for one pound was not on my bingo card 💀💀 #EastEnders”
