EastEnders’ Sharon Watts faces an emotional conversation with her young son Albie next week.
Sharon realises that it’s time to speak to Albie about Keanu Taylor’s death after receiving news about the upcoming funeral.
Next week’s episodes see Keanu’s sister Bernie announce the news that his send-off will take place on Thursday, June 14.
Bernie asks to host the wake at the Queen Vic, which sends guilty Linda Carter into a new downward spiral.
Sharon’s initial priority is to support Linda, who hits the bottle again as she struggles to cope. She steps in to take Linda to an AA meeting in the hope that it will help her.
Later, Sharon’s focus shifts to 4-year-old Albie, who was being raised as Keanu’s son in the months leading up to the mechanic’s death at Christmas.
Aware that Albie may find out about the funeral, Sharon considers her options. Linda offers to help share the news with the young boy, but Sharon doesn’t think it’s a wise move and insists she can do it alone.
In the end, Sharon chats to Martin Fowler about her dilemma and he shares some words of advice on how to handle the situation.
Sharon goes ahead and tells Albie about Keanu’s death and she’s later touched by a kind gesture from Linda’s son Ollie.
Although she’s unsure what’s appropriate in the circumstances, Sharon decides to attend Keanu’s funeral for her son’s sake.
On the day of the service, Sharon goes ahead and tries to attend – but Kathy and Linda end up having to hold a private memorial just for Sharon at The Arches. Who stands in the way of Sharon’s original plans?
EastEnders airs these scenes on Wednesday, June 12 and Thursday, June 13.
