Coronation Street’s Steve McDonald gets his own back next week on the ITV soap, after a sad betrayal months earlier.
The character is still heartbroken over his wife Tracy Barlow leaving him earlier this year. She betrayed him with his football hero Tommy Orpington in a steamy affair, before ending their marriage.
Tommy soon left the Street and Tracy decided to follow him, starting a new adventure abroad. Steve was finally getting back on track recently amid some sad news about Tracy, after he hoped to reconcile with his cheating wife.
His daughter Amy Barlow had revealed Tracy was due to make a Weatherfield visit, with him hoping to see her. But in upcoming scenes he learns she isn’t joining him after all ahead of his birthday, while a separate betrayal is also on the cards – just as a character returns to the show.
Tim Metcalfe will plot to attend the unveiling of a bust of footballer Tommy, despite his pal Steve’s heartache. Steve thinks they’re doing something for his birthday, but Tim is actually attending the unveiling of the statue.

Next week, new spoilers reveal that amid Tracy being a no-show and Tim letting Steve down there’s a return. Tommy is back, as he too attends the big event for the statue unveiling.
Pictures show Tommy at the event, but his return and his betrayal of Steve lead to Steve wanting payback. As Steve’s party gets underway on the cobbles, he’s upset to discover Tim and Sally are at the unveiling of Tommy’s bust.
Feeling let down, he prepares to confront his so-called friend with the help of possible love interest Cassie Plummer. She drives him down there, but soon the pair plot revenge against Tommy and they take action.
It seems there’s drama, as Steve has to cover his tracks. His and Cassie’s antics look set to be discovered, as Debbie Webster realises there’s something going on. Will Steve’s vendetta against Tommy lead him and Cassie into big trouble?
