Emmerdale’s Nate Robinson is reportedly set to leave the village after five years, with actor Jurell Carter apparently quitting the role.

The character has been at the centre of some huge storylines since 2019, when he arrived as the secret son of Cain Dingle. But now he’s reportedly set to leave, while details of when this will happen and how remain to be seen.

So what happens to Nate to make him leave his family and daughter Frankie behind? The soap and the actor have yet to even confirm the reports, but it seems the twist is planned.

It’s been claimed the plot will be “dramatic”, “explosive” and maybe even history-making. Fans will just have to wait and see with more information yet to be confirmed. In the meantime, here’s the possible exits on the cards for Jurell’s character Nate…

Tragic death

Given there has been nothing to indicate Nate is leaving the village on screen up until now, there is every chance he could be killed off. With his exit thought to be dramatic and one that could “go down in history”, will he meet a tragic fate?

While it’s been teased he will leave at some point this year, we are yet to find out when it will happen and if filming has taken place. Viewers will no doubt be fearing a sad end for Cain’s son, given his family and his young daughter are staying in the village.

Super soap week

Death or not, there’s always a super dramatic week around the soap’s anniversary in October. Just a couple of years ago Nate was injured in a cow stampede on the farm, so might he be involved in a big stunt once more?

Characters often find themselves caught up in this big week with some sadly dying. With it just a few months away, while no details are known, might this set the scene for his exit?

Family feud

Nate is currently feuding with his uncle Caleb Miligan, Cain’s brother, after a shocking betrayal. Earlier this year Nate found out his beloved uncle was having an affair with his wife Tracy Metcalfe.

It sparked a divide amongst the Dingle family, as Caleb was rejected out of support for Nate. Caleb and Nate have yet to reconcile, but could something else happen amongst the Dingle family that proves to be the final straw for Nate? Could family drama lead to him fleeing for good?

Fresh start

Perhaps there will be some sort of happy ending for Nate, and maybe he will leave alive. After all, his mum Cara lives away from the village, so maybe he will go back to be with her.

Perhaps he will get a job opportunity or another opportunity that is impossible to turn down. Plenty of characters have left to move abroad or for a lifestyle change.
