Betsy Swain, the daughter of DS Swain, is yet to officially make her Coronation Street debut.
Carla Connor (Alison King) recently offered the youngster work experience at Underworld after growing close to her mum and she starts her new job next week.
Boss Carla and Fiz Brown (Jenny McAlpine) are impressed with her machining skills. However, it is not long before there’s a confrontation between Betsy and her new boss, when Carla catches her texting and confiscates her phone.
Despite not being introduced to Betsy yet, fans are convinced she is Sabrina Adetiba’s (Luana Santos) friend who recently warned her to stay away from sinister solicitor Joel Deering (Callum Lil).
Sabrina’s mate headed over and pointed out Joel was a creep, warning she should steer clear. She took his card and pretended to chuck it in the bin, only to keep it for herself. And later, viewers seemingly saw why as the currently unknown newcomer confronted Joel and tried to blackmail him, warning she has a “big gob” and would expose his creepy behaviour.
Now, fans of the soap reckon they have sussed who the newcomer could be. Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “Sabrina’s mate looks a lot like DS Swain, is this her daughter? It’s gonna go down for Joel in #Corrie!”
A second added: “Just a thought, what if Sabrina’s mystery unnamed friend (the one who is blackmailing Joel) is Betsy – DS Swain’s daughter?” A third penned: “Swains daughter 100%” while someone else added: “As a guess DS swains daughter as she is supposed to be appearing.” One eagle-eyed reddit user also said: “Word is around the web that we have already met Betsy, as a new video on the Official Twitter was posted late last night of Sabrina’s friend taunting Joel.
“The friend has not been named as of today. Could this be Betsy Swain who is warning Sabrina about steering clear of Joel. Can Sabrina be saved from impending doom? The actress playing the friend is Sydney Martin. She looks like she will be part of Max and Bobby’s group. A girlfriend for Max perhaps?”
