EastEnders fans have worked out Nish Panesar could die as part of a shocking 40th anniversary storyline.

The BBC soap aired some huge Christmas episodes, which had Nish – played by Navin Chowdhry – front and centre.

With fans now speculating he will make up a big part of the upcoming milestone celebrations. 

Ahead of the next few months and year, talk has turned to the BBC soap’s 40th anniversary and what fans might expect from the upcoming scenes. 

One fan has theorised that Nish’s exit could be part of a huge storyline to mark the milestone.

Giving their thoughts for 40th anniversary storylines, one fan guessed Nish could play a big part: 

“Who Killed Nish Panesar? (7 Suspects for 7 Sins) Nish is killed in Walford East.. the only ones who have access to the keys are the suspects so it immediately tells us it was within the Panesar family. Suki, Ravi, Priya, Eve, Vinny, Avani or Nugget.

“The killer being revealed at Halloween, with a flashback to show us that it was Vinny who did the deed to protect Suki from him after he discovers they are conning him. I have long said that to be truly free of Nish then I have this feeling Suki is gonna have to lose her last child ie Vinny and would be a Shakespearen twist that Vinny now ends up in prison for murder just like his father was.”

Nish returned to Walford a few weeks back where he dropped the bombshell on his family that he was dying. Whilst many speculated that he was lying, a doctor seemingly confirmed it was the case and he didn’t have long to live.

“I think that’s something the audience will have to debate. In subsequent episodes, it’s something that will divide people and be open to a lot of speculation. What is presented is that Nish’s whole reason for coming back is to make up for lost time, and reconnect and gain forgiveness from his family,” Navin explained of whether Nish is telling the truth.

“You could argue that he wants to make up for all he’s lost and the pain he’s inflicted on others. It’s the chance for him to seek the ultimate redemption from those he loves most and who he has hurt the most. But he’s also someone with nothing to lose.”
