The character was introduced last month after she bumped into Harvey on the market.

However, there has been much speculation among fans that her husband was once targeted by Harvey’s racist son Aaron.

Who is currently in prison for his involvement in a far-right gang that plotted to plant a bomb in the disused Arjee Bhajee restaurant. 

Fans will soon start to get some answers, as a twist brings things to a head in forthcoming scenes.

On Monday (July 1), Harvey and partner Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) are settling in for a romantic evening when he receives a message from Maya. 

Making an excuse, Harvey slips out to meet Maya, who reveals she’s selling her home to pay her debts. 

However, their meeting is witnessed by Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier), and he soon reports back what he’s seen to Jean, who fears Harvey is doing the dirty on her. 

After Maya leaves, Harvey finds she’s dropped a letter addressed to her, and notices the address isn’t the area of London where she told him she lived.

Heading to the address, a curious Harvey knocks the door. But when he hears a crash coming from inside the house, he rushes in and is stunned to come face-to-face with a distressed man. 

Many fans believe Maya is the wife of a taxi driver – who also had the surname Houssain – who Aaron and the gang attacked back in 2021, leaving him seriously injured.

Maya also had told Harvey that her husband used to be a cabbie, but stated that he recently died. 

Could the mystery man at the property be Maya’s husband? And if so, what has Maya got planned for Harvey?
